In the Tri-Cities area of Washington state, IHOP franchisee Susan Mendenhall is once again feeding her community in times of crisis, and showing resilience in the face of adversity. Mendenhall is no stranger to stepping up in challenging times; in 2015 her IHOP location in Kennewick, Washington fed firefighters who were responding to devastating wildfires in the area.
Now, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mendenhall and her family are supporting their local community by feeding first responders in local hospitals, clinics and medical centers. Like so many businesses in the dine-in restaurant sector, Mendenhall’s IHOP business has been seriously disrupted by the decline in customer flows. In spite of the shortfalls, Mendenhall is focused on feeding her community and making sure that those who are on the front-lines of the pandemic are fueled for their critical jobs.
IFA applauds Susan Mendenhall and IHOP Kennewick, WA for their commitment to the Tri-Cities area of Washington and their efforts to feed first-responders.
