IFA Kicks Off Virtual Advocacy Meeting, Releases Coronavirus Recovery Policy Recommendation

The International Franchise Association (IFA) today launches its first-ever virtual Franchise Action Network (FAN) Annual Meeting.

Franchise business leaders from across the country will meet with their elected representatives virtually for the first time ever during FAN’s 2020 Virtual Advocacy Day, set for July 22.

7000 Franchise Advocates Call for Liability Protection

WASHINGTON, JULY 14 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today will deliver a petition to Congress calling for coronavirus liability protections for businesses that follow applicable guidelines.

The petition was signed more than 7000 franchise business owners, leaders, and advocates from across the United States.

IFA Endorses Rep. Kevin Hern for Reelection

WASHINGTON, D.C., JUNE 25 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today endorsed Rep. Kevin Hern for reelection, naming the Oklahoma 1st Congressional District Republican as a “Friend of Franchising.”

The endorsement – based on a review process evaluating factors including the candidate’s voting record, official actions, and public statements – are reflective of Hern’s efforts to promote business growth and employee development for America’s 733,000 franchise small businesses. Endorsements are not related to political party affiliation.

WASHINGTON, D.C., JUNE 25 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today endorsed Sen. Cory Gardner for reelection, naming the Colorado Republican as a “Friend of Franchising.”

IFA STATEMENT ON SENATE PASSAGE OF PPP FLEXIBILITY ACT

WASHINGTON, JUNE 3 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today released the following statement on the Senate passage of H.R. 7010, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Flexibility Act:

“America’s small businesses needed this bill,” said Matt Haller, IFA Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs. “By providing flexibility and certainty in how they can use PPP loans, small businesses – franchise or otherwise – can use this funding to stay in business, retain their employees, and give back to their communities.”
