To ensure that franchisees are able to recover from the unprecedented economic burden created by COVID-19, the International Franchise Association urges states to implement an emergency forbearance and rent abatement program.
WASHINGTON, APRIL 21 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today released the results of a survey of franchise owners on the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan program.
“These results show that small business owners need additional PPP funding as quickly as possible,” said Matt Haller, IFA Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs.
Upon a direct reading of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, it seems clear that Congress recognized the importance of providing the franchising sector a path to recovery. For the Act to achieve its intended outcome and have maximum impact, IFA requests confirmation that certain franchised businesses have eligibility in the Paycheck Protection Loan program.
