IFA Leads Business Coalition Opposing Joint Employer Standard Expansion In Colorado

The International Franchise Association (IFA) last night sent a letter representing 128 companies and associations asking Colorado’s Department of Labor to reconsider a proposed expansion of the joint employer standard.

IFA Endorses Rep. Kurt Schrader for Reelection

WASHINGTON, D.C., MAY 11 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today endorsed Rep. Kurt Schrader for reelection, naming the Oregon Democrat as a “Friend of Franchising.”

The endorsement – based on a review process evaluating factors including the candidate’s voting record, official actions, and public statements – are reflective of Schrader’s efforts to promote business growth and employee development for America’s 733,000 franchise small businesses. Endorsements are not related to political party affiliation.

Letter to State Legislators: Need for Business Interruption Insurance Legislation

To ensure that franchisees can recover and eventually reopen from the unprecedented economic burden created by COVID-19, the International Franchise Association urges states to ensure existing business interruption or continuity insurance cover losses related to COVID-19 pandemic.

IFA Forbearance and Rent Abatement Letter

Governors, along with state agencies and legislators across the country are leading the charge against the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time of this letter, the majority of states have closed non-essential businesses. To ensure that franchisees are able to recover from the unprecedented economic burden created by COVID-19, the International Franchise Association urges states to implement an emergency forbearance and rent abatement program.

IFA: 89% of Franchise Owners Haven't Received PPP Funding

WASHINGTON, APRIL 21 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today released the results of a survey of franchise owners on the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan program.

“These results show that small business owners need additional PPP funding as quickly as possible,” said Matt Haller, IFA Senior Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs.
